About this event
The Hebron Preservation Society will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2025. It will also be holding programs to celebrate the 250 years since the Revolutionary War. The first program this spring will be the 2nd Continental Artillery Regiment on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2 p.m. (raindate: April 27th at 2 p.m.) The program will include cannon firing, a demonstration of how a cannon would be used in the 18th century, a discussion of Burgoyne’s 1777 campaign which was so significant to our local history and the role the artillery played in stopping the British advance at Bemis Heights.
The recreated 2nd Continental Artillery Regiment is a volunteer group seeking to honor the patriots of the Revolutionary War’s original regiment and educate the public by reenacting. Our reenacting group traces its origins back to our nation’s bicentennial. The Regiment is honored to help the Hebron Preservation Society celebrate our 50th Anniversary as they approach their own, especially since some of the members have deep roots in Hebron and Salem.
The program will take place at 834 Chamberlin Mills Road in Hebron (Salem) at the home of HPS Board member Debi Craig, the significance of which will be discussed!
The program will be held in the backyard. Please bring a lawn chair and a blanket if you wish as April can be chilly. You may wish to bring ear plugs. There is no charge for this event, but donations will be gladly accepted. There will be parking on both sides of the road. Watch for parking signs.
