About this event

Join us for a three-day Winter Raptor Tour in the Fort Edward Grasslands Important Bird Area (IBA). The Audubon-designated IBA is especially appealing to winter raptors, who migrate to the grasslands from colder climates in search of food. Many of the birds that winter in the IBA depend on the open fields and meadows of the IBA for their survival.

Our small footprint (one vehicle and a maximum of 6 guests, 1 guide and a driver) allows us to go to the areas the birds love best. We will have excursions in the early morning and in the late afternoon as these are the times that the raptors hunt.

Meals are at locally owned establishments. Your accommodation will be at the locally owned historic hotel, The Queensbury, in Glens Falls, NY. The Queensbury is on the National Historic Register. For questions on the tour itinerary contact Roberta Kravette at (908) 656-4016 or rkravette@signpostpublishing.com.

Your trip helps preserve this important grassland bird habitat.
