About this event
Whether your finished artwork is completed in pencil, pastel, paint or other media, the artwork is only as good as the drawing beneath it. Drawing is the bare bones of the structure of a piece of art.
In this 2 hour workshop you will explore different drawing techniques in pencil. For personal inspiration bring one object that has personal meaning to you to this workshop ie: a stuffed animal, doll, figurine, or any keepsake. Objects will also be provided for those unable to bring their own object.
Using pencil you will explore techniques on how to achieve spectacular lifelike effects in drawing through the use of light and shadow. Learn the five elements of shading : line drawing, fill in the darks, develop shadow edges and areas of reflected light, create half tones and blend the tones to create distance. There will be an emphasis on composition, value, and drawing techniques.
All levels welcome. All supplies and materials will be provided.
