70th Anniversary Celebration at Six Flags Great Escape Theme Park

Take a trip down memory lane honoring the park’s rich history, starting from its humble beginning as Storytown USA on June 27, 1954. In addition to limited-time anniversary entertainment from June 27 through July 7, guests can spend the summer reminiscing with the return of Storytown characters for meet and greets, including Cinderella and Alice from Alice in Wonderland.

Six Flags Great Escape 70th Anniversary Celebration Entertainment:

Cowboy Style: A 20-minute, western themed variety show complete with circus-level cowboy tricks. Planned daily, every two hours at Center Stage, starting at noon.

Adirondack Raptors Local Birds of Prey Presentation: June 28 and July 7, Jolly Tree Theater, hourly from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Patriotic Parade: The beloved Timbertown characters will delight guests with a parade from Timbertown to Ghost Town, wearing festive props and escorted by flag bearers “playing” drum and fife music.

Live Music: Take a break and enjoy live music from the stage in the Fest Area of the park.

Return of Swan Boats: After an extensive project including preservation of the historic River Dee, ride refurbishment and a new dock installation, Swan Boats, an original and beloved Storytown ride attraction, returned to Six Flags Great Escape this summer.

Mother Goose Story Time: Join Mother Goose at the Big Shoe in Storytown for nursery rhyme readings.

Storytown Meet and Greets: Say hello to your favorite nostalgic characters in Storytown, including Cinderella, Mad Hatter, Little Boy Blue, Little Bo Peep and Alice in Wonderland.

Zing, Bing and Sing: Introducing an all-new, interactive game show at Jolly Tree Theater, “Zing, Bing and Sing” will offer the guests the chance to try their hand at park trivia, extreme bingo and competitive karaoke.
