About the Drive
The Morgan Duke Conservation Society is excited to announce its Largest Bottle & Can fundraising drive, with a goal to raise $1,000 by February 2025. This initiative will run from December 2024 through February 2025 at MT Returnables, located at 71 Ohio Ave, Queensbury, NY.
For over 11 years, the Morgan Duke Conservation Society has been dedicated to preserving the Hudson River Recreation Area, specifically the Buttermilk and Bear Slides in Lake Luzerne. Our volunteers have organized community clean-up events, attracting over 30 participants each time, and we currently have 12 dedicated volunteers who commit their time every week—through Spring, Summer, Fall, and even the dead of winter—to ensure these natural spaces remain clean and vibrant.
The funds raised from this bottle and can drive will enable us to continue our community clean-up events and provide essential supplies to our hardworking volunteers. Additionally, we have been actively planting trees in areas that faced deforestation in the 1980s, contributing to the restoration of our local ecosystem.
By participating in this bottle drive, not only are you helping to keep cans and bottles out of landfills, but you are also supporting local businesses like MT Returnables, which is striving to preserve the bottle return industry.
How to Donate
When you arrive at MT Returnables to donate your cans and bottles, please beep your horn in the parking lot, and a team member will come out to collect your donations. Be sure to let them know you wish to donate to the Morgan Duke Conservation Society. Please note that MT Returnables is closed on Fridays and Sundays. For staff safety, kindly box your glass items and ensure that containers are marked with a NY 5-cent deposit.
For those who prefer to make a one-time donation by check or money order, you can visit any Adirondack Trust Company branch and inform the tellers you would like to deposit into our Mary Walker ADK Conservation Fund Account. You may also provide our EIN: 462255893.
