25th Annual Lake Luzerne Halloween Pugs & Pumpkins Party

About this event

Dress-up your pups in their finest, funniest costume for this day filled with family fun! The theme this year is...."Silver Jubilee!"

There will be 10 different contests, including a Fastest Runner and Best Kisser! Awards will be presented. All ages are welcome to show off their artists skills with pumpkin decorating. Spend the day - rain or shine. Visit and admire all the great Pug dogs celebrating!

2024 Pugs and Pumpkins Party Schedule:

• 8:00 am to 10:00 am: Vendors get set up. 
• 11:00 am to 12:00 pm: DJ with music ("Absolute Sounds") & Chas Giknis and mini contests: 
  • most unique jubilee mask for an adult
  • best trick by a youth
  • most patriotic pug
• 11:00 am to 1:00 pm: Pumpkin registration along with an open decorating contest for adults, businesses, and youths. You can bring your own and take home/adopt one while supplies last.
• 11:00 am to 2:00 pm: Pug registration with a welcome bag, survey, and 2024 event souvenir.
• 11:00 am to 3:00 pm: A welcome tent at Benson's Pet Center.
• 11:45 am to 12:00 pm: The opening ceremony will take place, which will include introductions, a history of this event, cutting of the cake, special recognition, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Blessing of Animals.
• 12:00 pm: The Stroll, Strut, and Prance and Dance Parade will begin in the Silver Jubilee Arena.
• 12:15 pm: The individual contests will begin.
  • Fastest runner: runner (2-person team; starter & finish line) costume optional 
  • Pug & owner duo in look-alike costumes 
  • Most creative costume - above and beyond the normal costume standards 
  • Best kisser - very personal and only the pug will be judged 
  • Best tail - all about the best pug tail; Special: "The Dancing Witches" from the Gem Radio Theatre
  • Most body wrinkles - Pugs only from head to right front toe. 
  • Scariest: Both pug & owner in costume 
  • Most handsome: pug and owner in costume 
  • Pug imposter: Judging will be the Imposter only in "Silver Jubilee" themed costume
  • Most outrageous pug float: anything goes but the #25 must be contained
