About this event
Join other artists at the Hyde to create bold and beautiful watercolor paintings. Participants will practice watercolor techniques to learn some of the magic of the medium, then will apply these techniques in creating their own watercolor landscape inspired by the natural beauty of our region. Watercolor artist, Diane Swanson will work with each artist through the creative process, with tips on how to handle composition, color and brushwork. This workshop is for all artistic abilities and all materials will be provided.
Diane Swanson is a visual artist based in the Lake George/Adirondack region; much of her work celebrates the lakes, mountains, woods and landscapes of the Northeast. Although her paintings are representational, she approaches her work with an eye to more abstract qualities, harmonizing atmosphere and movement with form, color and line. Her work has been exhibited in many juried, group and solo shows throughout the Northeast and her landscapes and commissioned paintings have found homes with collectors all over the US.
