Outdoor Adventures
Treetop Course at Adirondack Extreme
Dads can try the treetop course at Adirondack Extreme in Bolton Landing for free on Father's Day only! Check out their six adult courses, four kids courses, and low-rider, zipline only tour.
Hiking or Walking on Area Trails
We have some prime hiking trails and mountains in the region worth checking out with Dad! We recommend Prospect Mountain or Sleeping Beauty for a true mountain hike, or the Gurney Lane Recreation Area trails or Warren County Bikeway for a more leisurely walk.
Fishing or Boating on Lake George or a Nearby Lake
Get out on the lake with Dad, and maybe bring some fishing poles! Just make sure you have your fishing license (kids under 16 do not need one).

Museums
Fort William Henry
Your dad doesn't have to be a history buff to appreciate Fort William Henry, where you can experience the sights and sounds of the Fort during the French & Indian War. Sign your children up for the 35th regime while you're there!
Fort Ticonderoga
Take the 1-hour drive up to Fort Ticonderoga with Dad - it's worth it! You can enjoy a picnic lunch on their gorgeous grounds, take a look a look at stunning views of Lake Champlain, and immerse yourself in Adirondack history.
World Awareness Children's Museum
The World Awareness Children's Museum in Glens Falls is the perfect place to go if you have little ones in your group - especially since the second Sunday of every month is free, and that happens to coincide with Father's Day.
Wine, Dine & Picnic
Adirondack Winery
You have at least two ways to enjoy Adirondack Winery for Father's Day! They're participating in Lake George Restaurant Week through June 15, if you visit the Friday or Saturday before Father's Day, and on Father's day they're hosting a Winery Brunch & Board Games event.
Picnic Spots
Pack a bag or basket with all the picnicking essentials and head to a Lake George park with the dad in your life. Pick a park with grills and picnic tables to enhance the experience, like at Usher-Delong Park, pictured above.
Bonus tip: Lake George has day-use islands specifically used for picnics. These can be booked ahead of time.
Family-Friendly Fun
Lake George Steamboat Company
The Lake George Steamboat Company has multiple cruises running on their three ships on Father's Day, including a Minne Ha-Ha 1-Hour Paddlewheel Cruise.
If you have children with you, the Minne Ha-Ha is always popular with kids, although they're welcome on other cruises as well. Kids under the age of 4 are free (although still require a ticket), and you can even bring a stroller on board, they're just not allowed in the dining rooms on the Lac du Saint Sacrement.
Mini Golf
Play a round of mini golf with the whole family at one of the many mini golf spots in Lake George. You'll have your pick from a pirate-themed course to one that takes you on a journey around the world, and more!
Parks & Playgrounds
Even if you're not taking a hike or going on a picnic, you can still make use of area parks, especially if you're heading out with kids. Many in the area have playgrounds, play areas, and even kid-friendly nature trails.
Check out Pappy's Playground, a unique play area located within Charles R. Wood Park, pictured above.
