Kathy Muncil is the CEO of Fort William Henry Corporation, overseeing the iconic British Fort, the historic 194-room hotel, and the banquet and event facilities that have become an essential part of the Lake George community. Kathy’s connection to the Fort dates back to her childhood, when she began working at the Fort at age 12. From feeding the dogs that helped protect the site following a fire in the 1960s to managing the Fort’s operations, Kathy’s history with the property spans decades.

After starting her career as a CPA at Coopers & Lybrand in Boston, Kathy returned to Lake George in 1993 with her young children and joined the family business. Her father, Bob Flacke, had been the President and CEO of the Fort William Henry Corporation since 1958, following in the footsteps of Kathy’s grandfather, Edwin “Babe” McEnaney. Kathy worked alongside her father for 25 years, eventually stepping into the CEO role 10 years ago.

Kathy holds a double major in economics and accounting from the College of the Holy Cross, and she earned her CPA license before transitioning to the hospitality industry. Throughout her career, Kathy has played a key role in transforming the Fort from a seasonal business into a year-round destination, maintaining the Fort’s rich heritage while building a thriving hospitality company.

Her passion for the Lake George community runs deep, as she believes the area is the “most special place on Earth.” Kathy is dedicated to preserving the region’s beauty and ensuring that Lake George remains a vibrant and sustainable destination for future generations. Along with her work at the Fort, Kathy is committed to supporting organizations that protect the lake and its environment.

Kathy is proud to have raised her family in Lake George, and she continues to work hand-in-hand with President Sam Luciano to manage the Fort William Henry Corporation, ensuring the legacy of the property and its place in Lake George’s history remains strong.
