2024 Heroes of Hospitality: Rebecca Wood

Rebecca Wood was drawn to the entertainment industry by the people, the energy, and the fun. She strives to experience Six Flags Great Escape as a guest so she can improve the experience for other guests. Her favorite rides at the Great Escape are the Comet and the Bobcat coaster.
Rebecca joined the Six Flags Great Escape team in 2009 as the Communications Manager and served as the Director of Marketing and Sales before she was promoted to President in 2019.
Rebecca believes the key to showing visitors a great time is to take care of team members so they, in turn, take care of guests.
She graduated from St. Bonaventure University where she was a four-year member of the NCAA Division I women’s basketball team.
In 2022, Rebecca was named Tourism Executive of the Year by the New York State Tourism and Hospitality Association. She is on the boards of the Tri-County United Way and the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce.
