The life of the King of Pop was marked by popularity and astounding events, beginning with his debut as the lead singer and later most popular member of The Jackson Five, the record-breaking sales of his album and single hit "Thriller", and the scandal and trial of 2005 over child molestation allegations. Even in death, late musical artist Michael Jackson's popularity managed to crowd several popular internet sites, including Twitter, TMZ, and CNN, some of which even crashed from the surge of users. Jackson died of cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009. The double inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was 50 years old, with a successful music career of 37 years and a legend as the world's best selling male solo pop artist, a title that may carry Jackson into further legendary status.
