Your Wellness Getaway in Lake George: Saturday & Sunday Itinerary
Escape to the Queen of American Lakes for a rejuvenating wellness getaway in Lake George! With serene activities, delectable dining options, and opportunities to reconnect with nature, this two-day itinerary will leave you feeling refreshed and invigorated.
Saturday: Salt Cave, Stroll in the Woods & Waterfront Dining
Morning Relaxation at the Adirondack Salt Cave
Start your weekend off right at the Adirondack Salt Cave in Glens Falls, open starting at 10am. Spend some well deserved time enveloped in the healing properties of salt therapy, known to promote respiratory health, reduce stress, and boost your overall well being.
They've also been known to host yoga classes, offer massages, and more, so check out their various options before booking.
"This was the highlight of our month! Seriously! We were blown away by the quality of our service and impeccable attention to detail," said one patron.
A Farm-to-Table Lunch at Mint
Mint, also in Glens Falls, is an eclectic, modern restaurant focused on locally-sourced dishes, including plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free option, plus creative cocktails and mocktails.
You can see the farms they source from at the bottom of their menu! They open at 12pm. One reviewer called the restaurant "a real culinary treat."
Afternoon Nature Walk at Meadowbrook Preserve
After lunch, enjoy a leisurely stroll at Meadowbrook Preserve in Queensbury, which has a mix of trails going through meadows and forest. Make sure to take the red trail that leads to an observation deck of Halfway Brook, and enjoy the informative signage on area plant and animal life. This is also a nice winter walk option if you're visiting during the colder months.
For a more strenuous mountain hike with scenic views, check out Prospect Mountain or Sleeping Beauty Mountain.
Wrap Up the Evening With Waterfront (or Log Cabin) Dining
Head just north of Lake George to Bolton Landing for a special meal on the water at Blue Water Manor's Tavern on the Lake. This is an ideal spot to unwind with stunning lake views and a delicious meal. They're open seasonally.
If your wellness getaway takes place during the winter (or even at any time of year), we recommend the year-round Log Jam Restaurant, known for its hearty menu options and robust salad bar, plus rustic Adirondack cabin vibes.
Sunday: Hot Yoga, a Spa Day & a Sunset Cruise
Energize With Hot Yoga
Begin your second day with a revitalizing hot yoga session at Hot Yoga Queensbury, which has classes starting at 7:30am. Let the heat and movement awaken your body and mind for the day ahead!
"The HYQ community is warm and welcoming. . .you can sweat hard at this studio, and also do deep work focusing on self growth and healing. I love the variety of classes, teachers, and music selections," said one reviewer.
Brunch With Creative Cuisine at farmacy
farmacy (yes, they spell it lowercased) in Glens Falls is hugely popular for their farm-to-table cuisine, cocktails, and brunch. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Their sourdough bread is a favorite of patrons, which you can try at brunch with their Farm Toast or Loaded Grilled Cheese.
Afternoon Indulgence at the Opal Spa (Or Kayaking!)
We have two suggestions for Sunday afternoon, depending on the time of year you're visiting, the weather, and your personal preference.
For a luxurious spa experience head to the Sagamore Resort to give their Opal Spa a try. This renowned spa offers a range of treatments designed to relax and rejuvenate, from body treatments to massages to even touchless treatments in their Salt Room. They're open until 5pm. "Literally the best facial I ever had in my life," said one guest.
If you're up for some time on the water, rent a kayak from Kayak Lake George and get paddling! They have kayaks, tandem kayaks, paddleboards, and paddle boats available to rent. They're open until 2pm, so plan ahead with fitting lunch in. Few things are more peaceful than getting out on the water - although we have another opportunity to do so coming up!
Grab Dinner Before Setting Sail
Our last activity for the day is a sunset cruise on Lake George, if you're visiting between May and October. They typically take off from the dock at 6:30pm, so when you're planning for dinner, make it an early meal so you have plenty of time to board the boat!
If you'd opted for the spa day at the Sagamore, dine at one of their on-site restaurants before leaving the premises. We recommend the BRGR, known for its spectacular burgers, although they also have vegetarian options. This restaurant is open seasonally.
If BRGR is not available, the year-round Fredrick's Restaurant is also in Bolton Landing near the Sagamore, and they have fabulous burgers as well. Plus, a cozy fireplace. "The cozy ambiance set the perfect tone," said one patron.
If you'd opted to stay in Lake George, dine near where you'll be taking the cruise at the Lake George Beach Club, open year-round. This is your second chance at waterfront dining while you're here! We recommend the Korean or fish tacos.
Sunset Cruise With the Lake George Steamboat Company
End your weekend with a breathtaking sunset cruise with the Lake George Steamboat Company, who typically offers sunset cruises throughout the season, including on Sundays. Enjoy stunning views of the lake as the sun dips below the horizon, and make use of their snack bar.
Here during the winter? Stick around at the Lake George Beach Club to soak in the ambiance (they're open until midnight), or head next door to The Lagoon to grab a nightcap. They're open until 9pm, and they have an ice bar on Saturdays and Sundays, typically from late January through early March.
